The gold casing is marked with the horses head which was a French province hallmark that was struck in 18K gold jewelry or items containing gold parts from 1838 to 1919. The watch is approximately 2.65 cm (1 0.8/16 inches) in diameter measured from side to side. Parts of the enamel on the edges of the dial are damaged (5th image) but when front crystal cover is closed the damage is not seen, thus have no negative effect! Another slight fault is the metal spring in the watch is dented at the end (10th image), perhaps intentionally done for better time keeping since I tested the watch and it is in good working condition. The casing is solid 18K gold with protruding Iris flowers and empty spaces allowing the viewer to see the beautiful red enamel guilloché which has a very similar effect to some of the beautiful paintings that I have seen at museums by Vincent Van Gogh where the flowers have some spaces allowing the viewer to seen the canvas which gives the painting a very naturalistic impression as though the canvas itself represented the earth. So if you want a Museum Quality Watch that can stand the test of time to equal Faberge, representing true love, then nothing can surpass this little beauty I offer you here!
