Antique Pocket Watch Echappement Roskopf (Non Working). Watch is not running. Has dent on the side. Does not close properly. Dial has cracks in it. Watch needs work all around.
This is an open faced pocket watch made in about 1915 by the Illinois Watch Company. The case is probably gold filled/plated, made by Bates & Bacon (B&B). The watch dial does have some cracks and at the 11 o’clock position, there is a little damage, perhaps from an impact of some king. The glass covering the dial is intact, though there are no hands on the watch. The back of the watch screws on; however, I had some difficulty lining it up, so I didn’t try to force it. The back side of the watch is a lovely patina’ed gold with a leaf and scroll pattern. This watch was probably used daily by someone who relied on its timekeeping ability. The panel available for engraving is blank, so it could be personalized. I don’t know whether it works or not.
