Up for sale is an interesting high grade Swiss cylinder escapement pocket watch with a fancy dial and case. The watch is 50mm in diameter. I believe it was made in the latter part of the 19th century. The case is silver and is heavy and solid. The engraved cartouche dial is extremely fancy and is in excellent condition. The case is similarly fancy with high relief back to back griffins and flowers and other details. The case does show considerable signs of use. The crown is worn smooth. The griffins do not line up straight with the neck of the case, but that is the way it was made. The watch is nail set. The movement has a cylinder escapement and is running. It has high grade wolfs tooth winding wheels. The beveled glass crystal has some minor scratches. I have no idea when it was last serviced. Please view the photos and ask questions as needed.
