A stunning antique Bhutan Tibetan collar studded with gemstones. The entire necklace is surrounded with rows of coral, amber beads and turquoise decorations. All these beads are sewn onto a padded fabric collar with ties of twisted natural wool. Worn at festive and special occasions by a Tibetan woman from a noble or affluent family to dress up their fancy robes. There are several beautiful metal medallions encrusted and decorated with turquoise in traditional motif. This is a most exquisite piece of imperial beauty. Very impressive weight as well. The condition of the sewn rows of beads is excellent. There are no loose or missing beads. The fabric collar is completely intact. Outside area:14 by 11 inches. Thickness: 1.25 inches.
